Medieval Fighters

I stumbled upon this scene as I drove by the Lakefront Park in Kissimmee yesterday. The little guy in the first photo is actually the 'big' guy. I took over fifty photos in eight minutes, and every one of them has him in it because every other fighter went against him. The fights were very fast, just a few blows landed, and it was over. The 'other' fighter in the second photo is a woman, a redhead as a matter of fact. When I say 'little guy' it is only compared to the other man in the photo, as they were all big men. Giants!

House Of Blues Ticket Office

Located in Downtown Disney's West Side, the House Of Blues purposely looks old and worn, but it is very colorful. I'll be posting other pictures of the restaurant, company store, and water tower in the near future.

They've Arrived

I was driving by the lake this morning, on Lakeshore Drive, and noticed more birds floating in the water than I have ever seen before, so I pulled over and got a few shots. At first I thought they were ducks, but it turns out they are Coots. There were even more of them on the Neptune Road side of the lake, but I wasn't able to shoot them there. Apparently they winter in Florida, not unlike the lovely retirees that come down every year, known as Snow Birds.

Big Toho Pier and Birds, Five

There is one day that is ours. There is one day when all we Americans who are not self-made go back to the old home to eat saleratus biscuits and marvel how much nearer to the porch the old pump looks than it used to. Thanksgiving Day is the one day that is purely American. ~O. Henry

Remember God's bounty in the year. String the pearls of His favor. Hide the dark parts, except so far as they are breaking out in light! Give this one day to thanks, to joy, to gratitude! ~Henry Ward Beecher

Big Toho Pier and Birds, Four

You'd think I have some kind of magic up my sleeve to get these birds to pose for me in front of the Lighthouse, but they just like Big Toho Pier for the scenery, lol.

Working Hard in Downtown Disney

A Disney worker sweeping up ... they do keep the place very clean, and I really appreciate it. Especially since this in my 'new' favorite place to capture society in action.

Skywriter

I was at Downtown Disney this morning when I spotted a skywriter just starting his message. If you look closely at the happy face, right where there should be a nose, you'll see a faint curved white line. That's the moon.

The final message: Jesus Loves You Trust - God -

I was amazed at how many people stopped what they were doing to look up and watch the plane write the message in the sky.

Big Toho Pier and Birds, Three

I was close enough to touch the Wood Stork, and he didn't like it. But he wasn't going anywhere because there were three fishermen on the pier that would throw the birds fish every once in awhile.

Big Toho Pier and Birds, Two

These were taken either from or near the the Big Toho Pier.

1) Tri-color heron, fishing.
2) Still fishing.
3) MB knows what kind of bird this is, I don't.
4) I think the tri was irritated by the unknown bird.
5) A Great Blue Heron. Looks like he's walking on water, doesn't it?

The Coco Moka Cafe is located on the second floor of the Virgin Megastore in Downtown Disney's West Side.

1) I'm going up there for coffee ... and a view.
2) Looking for my crumbs. I dropped some, because I like birds.
3) The left side of the cup.
4) The right side of the cup.
5) A view.

Folk Art Festival, Three

There were a couple of artists there that use old tea pots, pots and pans, tools, and you name it, to produce this kind of neat artwork. I didn't get this guy's name - sorry.

Folk Art Festival

I went to Downtown Disney yesterday in search of adventure and just happened to stumble upon the 33rd Annual Festival Of The Masters. One hundred and fifty award winning artists were invited to the festival - it was quite a scene. There was also a Folk Art Festival included. I don't know if the folk art artists were award winning or not, but they do produce some amazing works. I only took a few pictures of the art on display, and I have to say this one is my favorite. It is by Janet Moses - her "White Trash" collection was really outstanding. Unfortunately, she wanted just a tad bit more than I was willing to pay for this piece, so the photo will have to do for now.
