I saw at google earth that almost every houses there have swiming pools. do gator and snakes go there too? (I know that they have no wings)
And how do you prevent children to avoid lakes?

They can ... I had a snake slither into my bathroom when I had the ranch ... and it got away!! But I also had a pond and never had a problem with it. You just have to teach the kids early not to go near the water without their parents.

My mother had a snake come into her bathroom recently also, lol. Poor woman nearly had a stroke! Luckily my brother was there and he got the snake. She lives about 100 miles from me.

I work for Kissimmee Utility Authority and I can tell you that those warning signs have a definite purpose! On numerous occasions we have removed large alligators from that pond -- some as large as 7 feet in length. In fact, we currently have a smaller gator living in the pond on the west side of our building.

Now you know where the gator is townboy!

You remove the gators where?

Chris: Thanks for stopping by and giving us that information! I'm going to have to check out the pond you mention ... unless it isn't accessible to the public?

Coca Honey: I'm curious too ... I'm guessing somewhere around Lake Toho ... let's hope Chris comes back and answers the question!
