Napping At The Bus Station

I find it interesting that the majority of the Bench People I've been seeing lately are women, and they don't appear nearly as derelict as the homeless I've photographed in the past. Her belongings are in the grocery cart at the rear of the station.

I shot this at the 535 Station on Hwy 192 at the intersection of Hwy 535, Kissimmee, Florida.

Twin Great Blue Herons

This is a rare shot!

I haven't seen two Great Blue Herons in the same area since I've been going to the Lakefront ... this was a pleasant surprise.

Moon Shot

Moon over Champions Gate.

Cruise To Gold

Unfortunately the pot of gold was not at the end of the cruise!

1) My brother and I were leaning on the rail on the top deck waiting for the ship to sail when I shot a couple of pictures of the ropes that are used to secure the ship to the dock. This was not a planned photo - my brother wasn't aware of it, I got his hand just right in the frame so it looks like he's about to release the rope.

2) The ship is registered in the Bahamas.

Big Blue

Blue was hanging around on the other side of the chain waiting for the fisherman on the bench to share his catch. I was taking photos of him (what else?) and suddenly the fisherman spoke, to me, which distracted me because I didn't understand what he said. "Ready for a good shot?" he repeated, as he tossed the fish on the sidewalk. Blue swooped over the chain and landed pretty close to me to grab the fish. I was lucky to get this shot, because, in fact, I wasn't ready! LOL

Great White Heron

Every time I go to the Kissimmee Lakefront I shoot the Great White and Great Blue Herons, as well as any other birds I see - along with people, of course. I just don't get tired of taking the pictures, always hoping I'll capture something unique.

Fantasy Of Flight Original

The original of the styled photo I posted on Comic Book Style. That blur beneath the cockpit is something that crashed into my windshield, and, as you can see, my windshield cries out, "Wash me!!" Good thing I'm more interested in content than quality, as none of the shots I took on the road today would make it to the blogs! LOL

I have a few more that I'll be posting during the week.

Osprey

Unfortunately I couldn't get any closer. I saw him a little while later carrying a fish to the top of a post across the street from the lake. [Click To Enlarge]

Santa Maria

A photo I took of the replica of Columbus's ship, the Santa Maria, docked in Barcelona Harbor in 19 something or other. I threw a little of my special sauce on it to bring out the highlights; it is a rather old and square and somewhat faded photo.

Commorant

These birds are tough to get close to. She was sunning herself, facing the Lighthouse, but turned and faced the water as soon as she spotted me walking towards her. I got one shot, that's it, then she flew off.

As Seen On TV

[Click It To Big It]

Big Brown won the Kentucky Derby May 3, 2008 and is a favorite for the Triple Crown! I just had to shoot my TV, it's the only way to get a personal picture!

Gator Head

I was shooting the breeze at the Kissimmee Breakwater with one of the Airboat Captains, when this fellow came along carrying the captain's lunch in one hand and the Gator Head in the other.

"Hey, how ya doin'?" I asked.

"Good. You?" he responded.

"You cut that off a gator out in the lake?" I asked, in statement fashion.

"Nah!" he says.

"Yes, you did! You cut it off a gator just now, didn't you!" I exclaimed.

He gave me a weird look, as if I was some kind of yokel tourist. "Nope!" he says. "But it is a real gator head!"

Yeah, no kidding!

Some people just don't get my humor!!
